Race Tracks Near Buenos Aires: Where to Rent Track Time Near the City

Where to Drive on Track Near Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is one of the motorsport capitals of South America. The Argentine passion for cars is reflected in a variety of circuits accessible from the city where you can rent track time for Track Days, car testing or simply to enjoy performance driving in a safe environment.
In this guide we present the main circuits available near Buenos Aires, their characteristics, how to get there and what they offer for enthusiasts looking for their first or next Track Day.
Autodromo Oscar y Juan Galvez — The Buenos Aires Circuit
Without a doubt the most iconic circuit in Argentina. Located in Villa Riachuelo, within the City of Buenos Aires, the Autodromo Galvez features a 4,259-meter layout with 13 corners that combine fast and technical sections.
History and Relevance
Inaugurated in 1952, the Galvez hosted the Argentine Formula 1 Grand Prix from 1953 to 1998. Today it is the home of Turismo Carretera, Super TC2000 and other national categories. Driving here means stepping on the same track as Fangio, Reutemann and the greatest names in Argentine motorsport.
Track Layout
The circuit offers variety: long straights where significant speeds are reached, fast corners that demand confidence and heavy braking zones where technique makes the difference. It has good run-off areas at most corners, making it relatively safe for beginners.
Infrastructure
Covered pit garages, ample parking, permanent ambulance and fire service during events, spectator areas and direct vehicle access from the General Paz highway. It is the best-equipped circuit in the area for Track Days.
How to Get There
From downtown Buenos Aires (Obelisco) it is approximately 30 minutes via the 25 de Mayo highway and General Paz. From Palermo, about 25 minutes. There is free parking on the premises. It is the most accessible circuit from any point in Buenos Aires.
Autodromo Roberto Jose Mouras — La Plata
Located in La Plata, the capital of Buenos Aires province, this circuit offers a more compact but equally challenging alternative to the Galvez.
Track Layout
The La Plata circuit has a shorter layout with tight, slow corners that test patience and low-speed technique. It is excellent for practicing late braking and corner exits. The surface is generally good, although some areas can be uneven.
How to Get There
From Buenos Aires it is approximately 60 km via the Buenos Aires - La Plata highway. The trip takes between 45 minutes and one hour depending on traffic. It has its own parking within the venue.
Karting Tracks and Smaller Venues
For those looking for a less intimidating first experience or wanting to supplement their preparation before going to a full-size racetrack, the karting circuits in the area offer interesting options.
Karting Tracks in the Northern Zone
The Pilar and Escobar area has karting circuits that offer both competition karting experiences and sessions in small cars. They are short circuits, between 500 and 1,000 meters, ideal for practicing the basics of performance driving: braking, racing line and steering input.
Karting Tracks in the Southern Zone
In the Ezeiza area there are karting options with good infrastructure. They are especially convenient if you are staying near the airport and want a quick experience without going all the way to the Galvez.
What to Consider When Choosing a Circuit
- Distance from your location: if you have limited time, the Galvez is the most practical option from Buenos Aires. If you are in the southern zone, Ezeiza may be more convenient for karting
- Your experience level: for beginners the Galvez is ideal due to its width and run-off areas. Karting circuits are good for starting in a more controlled environment
- Type of vehicle: if bringing your own car, make sure the circuit accepts road vehicles. Some events are exclusive to race cars
- Included services: not all circuits offer ambulance, tow truck and track insurance included. At Racing Rental everything is covered in the price
- Event format: some circuits rent slots where you have to organize everything yourself (car, helmet, instructor). Others like us offer the arrive-and-drive format where everything is included
Why We Chose the Autodromo Galvez for Our Track Days
After evaluating the available options, we chose the Autodromo Oscar y Juan Galvez as our main venue for several reasons. First, the location: it is within the City of Buenos Aires, making it accessible for both residents and tourists without requiring a long trip. Second, the infrastructure: pit garages, permanent medical and emergency services, and a track surface in good condition. Third, the layout: it is long and varied enough to offer a complete experience for both beginners and more experienced drivers.
Additionally, driving at the Galvez has a unique emotional component. It is a circuit with history, where the best Argentine drivers raced for decades. That adds special value to the experience that you will not find at a karting track or smaller venue.
